Part of Jane McCracken's exquisite series of works entitled 'In Homage to The Last Great Carnivores of Eurasia' this piece features the black wolf who is seeking revenge for the loss of its mate (The White Wolf portrayed in the piece 'Sweet'). Based on a horrifying image of one of these creatures, captured in a trap about to be shot by a hunter.
The images juxtaposes and human forms and turns the gun on the hunter.
This work, as all the others in the series has been featured in a number of solo exhibitions and is the subject of considerable interest from Animal Conservation groups and collectors alike.
All of the pieces in this series were created on paper using just a ballpoint pen. It's amazing what a Bic can do when in the hands of someone as talented as Jane.
