Part of Jane McCracken's exquisite series of works entitled 'In Homage to The Last Great Carnivores of Eurasia' this piece features an image based on still photographs (taken by Jane) of the leopard from Cartier's 2012 Advertisement 'L'Odyssee de Cartier' (Bruno Avellian). The image highlights the beauty of this threatened species whilst also challenging the idea of training wild animals to perform for human gratification.
This work, as all the others in the series has been featured in a number of solo exhibitions and is the subject of considerable interest from Animal Conservation groups and collectors alike.
All of the pieces in this series were created on paper using just a ballpoint pen. It's amazing what a Bic can do when in the hands of someone as talented as Jane.
