Part of Jane McCracken's exquisite series of works entitled 'In Homage to The Last Great Carnivores of Eurasia' this piece uses Anselm Kiefer's painting 'Parsifal Ill' as its base layer - drawing on his dark atmospheric imagery and his symbolism. The drawing explores a number of themes simultaneously, from Jung's 'Amfortas Wound' - mankind's propensity to repeat controversial actions, desperate an understanding of the consequences, to parallels with the Goldilocks and Three Bears fairy tale.
This work, as all the others in the series has been featured in a number of solo exhibitions and is the subject of considerable interest from Animal Conservation groups and collectors alike.
All of the pieces in this series were created on paper using just a ballpoint pen. It's amazing what a Bic can do when in the hands of someone as talented as Jane.
