New Collaboration - Visit us in London!

We are pleased to announce our collaboration with ‘Edge Design’, a London based contemporary furnishing design company. Edge Design provide furnishings for offices, educational environments, and public areas and as The New English, they manufacture their products entirely in England. This focus on high quality British made manufacturing with a thorough design flair made Edge Design the perfect collaboration partner for The New English .

Located in Great Sutton Street in Clerkenwell, London, the Edge Design showroom now hosts four wall art installations by The New English, two of which have never been shown before.

The four wall art installations are: ‘Supermodel’ by Phoebe Richardson – our most popular piece of wall art, ‘The Flamingo’ by Paul Bishop – launched this spring, and our two new pieces ‘Golden Eagle’ by Laura Brennan and ‘Cervus’ (The Stag) by Amy Worrall. We are excited to display them in London and believe they perfectly compliment the modern furniture Edge Design displays in their showroom. Go see for yourself – the showroom is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm. .

We spoke to the designers of our two new pieces and here’s what they had to say about their talented artwork.
‘Cervus - The Stag’ by Amy Worrall

Amy Worrall: “A common sight around the Trentham Estate near Stoke-on-Trent, deers are without doubt a symbol of the British countryside. This dramatic piece is symbolic of this heritage, portraying the deer in a similar way to the hunting trophies that can be spotted in many rural inns around the UK. Composed of 12 plates, this compact piece can enhance all spaces, and be arranged as widely as desired to draw attention in any room.

In all of my designs produced for The New English, I have focused on portraying vivid colours and an intricate mosaic-like effect, in reference to one of my favourite artists: Antoni Gaudí. These striking pieces will make the perfect addition to any wall, and will no doubt bring a spark of life wherever they are placed".

‘Golden Eagle’ by Lauran Brennan

The New English Blog - Laura Brennan - Edge Design - Wall Art - Golden Eagle

Laura Brennan: "Three of the designs I have created for The New English are geometric representations of the animal kingdom, a style which is popular in tattoo art for showing shapes from nature. In this design, the eagle appears as if it has been chipped away at from a green stone to reveal reflections of different hues and some hidden gold. It appears as though it has begun to soar upwards from take-off, meaning the eagle has an optimistic quality.

This piece proudly flies over a bed frame or elegantly glides over a sofa making a perfect centre piece to any room. Its 11 plates arranged asymmetrically create this jade, teal and 'golden eagle', one of five designs I have created for The New English"

You can now visit Edge Design to see our wall art in a real setting and to find out more! The two new designs will be available to order on our website in coming weeks so stay tuned for updates!
